Baoping Jia is a professor in school of materials science and engineering at Changzhou University, vice president of Jiannan Graphene Research Institute. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees from Central South University, China in 2001 and 2004. He received Ph.D. degree in Material Physics and Chemistry from Shanghai Institute of Ceramics (SICCAS), CAS. Then, he worked SICCAS as assistant professor during 2007-2008. During 2008-2010, he worked as postdoctoral researcher in International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics, National Institute for Materials Science, Japan. Then, he worked as Type A Special Research Scientist in Nanotube Research Center, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology of Japan (AIST) from 2010 to 2013. Since 2013, he has worked as research professor in Changzhou University, and as vice president in Jiangnan Graphene Research Institute.
His research interests focus on Carbon nanomaterials (carbon nanotube and graphene nanosheets) based functional structures with novel physical, chemical, electronic and structural properties as high-performance flexible thin film devices and electrodes materials for sustainable energy conversion and water purification; Controlled synthesis, characterization and bottom-up assembly of semiconductor nanocrystals into 2D and 3D mono-or heterostructures with aimed applications for functional devices, including solar cell, secondary battery, supercapacitor, sensor and so on.
