演讲题目:Graphene-based THz Detectors
内容摘要
The unique optoelectronic properties of graphene make it an ideal platform for a variety of photonic applications. Owing to its high carrier mobility, gapless spectrum, and frequency-independent absorption, graphene is a very promising material for the development of detectors and modulators operating in the THz region of the electromagnetic spectrum (wavelengths in the hundreds of microns), which is still severely lacking in terms of solid-state devices. I will report our recent efforts aimed at developing efficient THz detectors based on antenna-coupled graphene field-effect transistors. The most recent results demonstrate room temperature operation up to 0.38 THz, showing that our devices are beyond proof-of-concept, and can already be used in a realistic setting, enabling large area, fast imaging of macroscopic samples.
