Due to the linear energy dispersion of electrons in graphene it has strongly nonlinear electrodynamic properties. An overview of our recent theoretical results on the nonlinear electrodynamics of graphene will be given. Among them are the full quantum theory of the third-order effects in graphene, which describe different nonlinear phenomena such as the third harmonic generation, the four wave mixing, the saturable absorption, the second harmonic generation stimulated by a dc electric current, etc., as well as a recently discovered and patented method of detecting electromagnetic radiation using a so called bridged-gate quantum point contact.
