Senior Scientific Researcher (Scientific Researcher I) at the Laboratory of Optical Processes and Nanostructures, National Institute of Materials Physics (NIMP, Măgurele), Romania. He received his Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Bucharest in 2008–2011, and conducted postdoctoral research at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Switzerland (2013–2014) and at IMEC in Belgium (2015–2016). His research focuses on chalcogenide phase-change materials, two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), chalcogenide glasses, CZTS, and chalcogenide thin films, involving applications such as phase-change memory, resistive-switching memory OTS selectors, and thin-film solar cell absorber layers. He has published over 100 papers and has made a series of advances in pulsed laser deposition, in-situ synchrotron radiation characterization, and spatially confined CVD synthesis of two-dimensional materials, including work on GeTe, GaSb, and CZTS phase-change/chalcogenide thin films. He has led research projects including Romania–Moldova bilateral cooperation projects. He is scheduled to share insights on the applications of chalcogenide and two-dimensional materials in memory and energy devices.
