Progress in the Application of Graphene Heating Technology in Jiangsu's Agriculture
Graphene electric heating films, with their high electrothermal conversion efficiency, uniform heat generation, and corrosion resistance, are becoming an innovative solution for winter heating in Jiangsu's protected agriculture. In the field of protected plant cultivation, Jiangsu Vocational College of Agriculture and Forestry, in collaboration with graphene material R&D and manufacturing enterprises, has carried out the construction of precision temperature-controlled demonstration bases for multi-scenario protected planting and breeding, integrating graphene electrothermal-photothermal systems to significantly reduce winter heating costs. For high-value crops such as strawberries and tomatoes, graphene electric heating films are laid beneath cultivation troughs or coconut coir strips to achieve precise temperature control. The yield per cherry tomato plant increased by 18.73% compared with the control group, and electricity costs dropped substantially. In the field of protected livestock breeding, graphene piglet heating plates underwent continuous five-month electrification testing, showing a power attenuation rate of only 0.57%, with electricity consumption per unit area 30.19% lower than traditional electric heating wire plates, and significantly improved piglet weight gain. Standardization efforts are advancing in parallel. Jiangsu has issued a local standard titled "Technical Regulations for Temperature Control of Graphene Electric Heating Films in Protected Cultivation" and a group standard titled "Technical Regulations for Temperature Control of Graphene Electric Heating Films in Protected Aquaculture," laying a normative foundation for the large-scale promotion of the technology. At present, graphene heating products are expanding from greenhouses to multiple scenarios such as livestock and poultry breeding and aquatic overwintering, providing key technical support for the green and low-carbon transformation of Jiangsu's protected agriculture.
