Biography

Professor Guo Mingming is currently a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, a Foreign Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and a Distinguished Expert of the National Major Talent Program ("Thousand Talents Plan"). He previously served as Chief Expert, Senior Expert, and Deputy Chief Engineer at the Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry, SINOPEC, and as President of the Graphene Application Technology Research Institute of the National Graphene Alliance. In 1977, he was admitted to the Department of Chemistry at Nanjing University, majoring in polymer science, where he received his bachelor's and master's degrees. In 1987, he received his doctoral degree in polymer science from the Department of Materials Science at Fudan University and stayed on to teach there. In 1990, funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of Germany, he conducted advanced visiting research at the Institute of Polymer Science at the University of Hamburg. From 1994 to 2013, he served as Director of the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Center at the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering, University of Akron, USA. In 2012, he was appointed as a National Distinguished Expert and returned to China, and since 2018 he has been a professor at the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Southwest University. He has been engaged in research on graphite and graphene for more than 20 years, forming a systematic accumulation from graphite ore sources and graphene preparation methods to the application of graphene in polymer materials. He pioneered the coupling method for preparing polymer/carbon nanotube/inorganic particle ternary composites, has published more than 100 papers in international journals, and has presided over or participated in more than 60 international commercial engineering and basic R&D projects. In recent years, he has focused on the R&D and industrialization of graphene/polytetrafluoroethylene nanocomposites, as well as cross-disciplinary applications of graphene and polymer composites in slow-release pesticides and fertilizers and in the agricultural field. He is scheduled to share application practices of graphene in polymer composites and the agricultural field at the conference.

Important Honors: Foreign Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (2021); Distinguished Expert of the National "Thousand Talents Plan" (2012); National-Level Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent of the Central Organization Department; President of the Graphene Application Technology Research Institute of the National Graphene Alliance.
