Biography
Xu Jianbin, Choh-Ming Li Professor of Electronic Engineering and Associate Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, IEEE Fellow, Foreign Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, and Member of the Academia Europaea. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Nanjing University and went to Germany in 1988, where he obtained his PhD from the University of Konstanz. He is currently Director of the Materials Science and Technology Research Centre at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Academic Vice President of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has led approximately 60 research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Overseas Distinguished Young Scholars program, and has published more than 600 SCI papers, which have been cited over 30,000 times, with an H-index of about 90. His research focuses on frontier areas such as nanomaterials and devices, and the application of machine learning in nanomaterials.
