Professor Liu Jingquan is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Qingdao University, dean of the Graphene Application Technology Innovation Research Institute of Qingdao University, director of the Qingdao Key Laboratory of Graphene Application and Development, a Taishan Scholar Overseas Distinguished Expert of Shandong Province, and an honorary professor at Deakin University in Australia. He received his bachelor's degree from the Department of Chemistry, Shandong University in 1989. In 1998, he went to Australia to study, and obtained his master's and doctoral degrees from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 1999 and 2004, respectively. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), the University of Technology Sydney, and the University of New South Wales. In 2007, he visited the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the United States. From 2007, he served as a Vice-Chancellor's Distinguished Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales. In 2010, he was introduced back to China as a First-Tier Distinguished Professor at Qingdao University. He mainly researches the synthesis of carbon nanomaterials such as graphene and polymer composites, RAFT-controlled radical polymerization functional polymers, electrochemical biosensor assembly, near-infrared absorbing metal nanomaterials, and energy storage and catalytic materials. He has published more than 340 high-level papers, which have been cited more than 20,000 times, with an H-index of 59. He has published 6 book chapters, applied for more than 40 invention patents, and presided over 14 scientific research projects including General Projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (including 4 industrialization projects). In 2013, he co-founded Qingdao Huagao Graphene Technology Co., Ltd., which mainly deals in single-layer/multi-layer graphene and derivative products, and was listed on the New Third Board in January 2016 (stock code 835672). He has received honors such as the Outstanding Contribution Award for Distinguished Experts of Qingdao, the First Batch of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Leading Talents of Qingdao, the Yimeng Friendship Award of Linyi City, and the "Qilu Friendship Award" of Shandong Province (2017). At the conference, he plans to share the industrialization path of graphene preparation and application.
