Full Professor in Quantum Device Physics, Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience, Chalmers University of Technology (Chalmers), Sweden; head of the Spin and Quantum Devices research group. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from the Max Planck Institute (Stuttgart), Germany, in 2007, and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Twente and the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. He has been on the faculty at Chalmers since November 2010. His research covers spintronics and quantum devices based on graphene, two-dimensional semiconductors, van der Waals heterostructures, topological insulators, and topological/magnetic materials, with a focus on developing non-volatile, low-energy nanoelectronic and quantum information devices. He has published a series of papers in journals such as Nature Materials, Advanced Materials, and Phys. Rev. B, and was among the first to report spintronic devices based on two-dimensional quantum materials. He has participated in major projects including the EU Graphene Flagship, Flag-ERA, and Sweden's WISE program, and has given more than 120 invited/plenary talks at international conferences. He is scheduled to give a talk on spintronic devices based on two-dimensional quantum materials.
