Biography

Researcher Yang Xiaoyu is currently a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Computer Network Information Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences, a position-based professor at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, a recipient of the Chinese Academy of Sciences "Hundred Talents Program," a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, and a visiting professor and guest professor at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom. He was born in August 1968. He obtained a master's degree in Computer Science from De Montfort University in the United Kingdom in 2001 and a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from the same university in 2006. After that, he conducted research at the University of Cambridge, the University of Southampton, and the University of Reading in the United Kingdom, during which he participated as a core member in more than ten EU Framework Projects and UK national government projects. In 2012, he returned to China and joined the Computer Network Information Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is mainly engaged in research on high-throughput integrated materials computing, multi-scale simulation computing, materials databases and materials informatics, and AI-driven new materials research and development. He developed China's first high-throughput multi-scale integrated materials design industrial software and platform, MatCloud (MatCloud+), and achieved achievement transformation. It has been applied in fields such as the screening of lithium battery anode materials, significantly shortening the new materials research and development cycle. He has presided over or participated in projects including those of the National Development and Reform Commission, General/Key/Joint Fund and Special Projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Materials Genome Engineering Special Project of the National Key R&D Program, the Beijing Natural Science Foundation, and Yunnan's "Rare and Precious Metal Materials Genome Engineering" project. He has published more than 50 academic papers and 3 English academic monographs. He has won the Second Prize of the "Chunhui Cup" Chinese Overseas Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. He serves as an editorial board member of the journal *China Big Data* and a project review expert for the Ministry of Science and Technology. At the conference's AI + Future Materials Forum, he plans to share the application of high-throughput materials computing and AI-driven new materials research and development in the screening of graphene and other two-dimensional materials.
