Biography

Zhu Rongtao is currently an associate professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Chemical Engineering, China University of Mining and Technology. He is also the founder of Jicui Haobo New Materials Technology (Yancheng) Co., Ltd., a project manager (major project category) at the Yangtze River Delta National Technology Innovation Center, a specially appointed expert under Jiangsu Province's "Science and Technology Vice President" program, and a visiting scholar at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He is a native of Xiayi, Henan, born in January 1983. He has long been engaged in research on surface protection and remanufacturing of process equipment, mineral materials, and material damage behavior under harsh conditions. In recent years, he has focused on ultra-high-temperature Joule heating synthesis technology and equipment for new energy materials, namely the "Joule Heating Flash" (FJH) technology route. He has presided over more than 20 projects, including National Natural Science Foundation projects, Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation projects, Xuzhou Key R&D Program projects, and various enterprise cooperation projects. He holds more than 10 authorized invention patents and has published more than 50 academic papers. He has won one Second Prize of the Henan Provincial Industrial and Information Technology Science and Technology Achievement Award and one Second Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the China National Coal Association. He led his team to independently develop a millisecond-level high-temperature flash process. Based on Joule's law, the carbon source generates heat in situ, forming an extreme high temperature above 3,000°C within one second followed by extremely rapid cooling, thereby producing turbostratic graphene with excellent dispersibility. The entire process is a dry solid-phase reaction, with no solvent, no catalyst, and zero waste liquid discharge. The raw materials can be compatible with anthracite coal, petroleum coke, biomass waste, and even waste plastics and rubber. In 2025, its "Jicui Haobo Joule Heating Flash Graphene Industrialization Project" added automated graphene powder and conductive slurry production lines that entered trial production, marking the technology's transition from the laboratory to large-scale mass production. The team is also building an open and shared experimental pilot platform, launching service models of "processing incoming materials, on-site experiments by visiting personnel, and remote experiments on incoming samples." At the conference, he plans to share the green preparation and industrialization progress of flash graphene.

Important Honors: Specially appointed expert under Jiangsu Province's "Science and Technology Vice President" program; project manager (major project category) at the Yangtze River Delta National Technology Innovation Center; Second Prize of the Henan Provincial Industrial and Information Technology Science and Technology Achievement Award and Second Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the China National Coal Association.
